Scottish Mortgage top ten unlisted holdings deep dive reassures analysts

Scottish Mortgage has published a ‘deep dive’ into its ten largest private equity investments, an area of the portfolio that has been under intense scrutiny this year from analysts, clients and a former board member.

The investment trust has been a longstanding investor in the PE space and currently has 52 privately listed companies in the portfolio, putting its PE exposure at its 30% limit, according to the latest factsheet. In the presentation, which is dated September 2023, SMT states it is now at 53 PE holdings which makes up 27.9% of the trust's overall exposure.
