So in the spirit of the day, Investment Week has collated some of the biggest break-ups and near tie-ups to happen in the asset management industry. There have been a number of near-moments over the years, from the London Stock Exchange's merger with Deutsche Boerse in 2017 to Smith & Williamson's tie-up with Rathbone Brothers.
